Its no surprise that Country Music Legend Ray Price is
undergoing the final stages of pancreatic cancer.
And today as I write this with a heavy heart I beg you
to remember him and admire him for his bravery in going
to rest like the hero he is.

Today he left the hospital in Tyler Texas to go to his
home in Mount Pleasant to undergo hospice care
and be called home to Hillbilly Heaven.
The family asks to please respect him at this time.
He left us his final words…

a final message to his fans. “I love my fans and have devoted my life to reaching out to them. I appreciate their support all these years and I hope I haven’t let them down. I am at peace. I love Jesus. I’m going to be just fine. Don’t worry about me. I’ll see you again one day.”

His wife Janie released this to us:
“Ray is alert and aware of his surroundings and making decisions,” said Janie. “With God’s blessing he has not had extreme pain. But it’s with great sadness that I announce to you today that my beloved husband has entered the final stages of his cancer that he has battled for 25 months. Anyone who knows Ray is aware that he has strong convictions and great faith in God. It’s his decision to leave the hospital and return home to spend his final days on his beloved ranch surrounded by the comfort of his home, family and friends.”

I was given the OK to release Ray’s mailing address so you can send him
some lovin’s.
Ray Price, P.O. Box 1986, Mt. Pleasant, TX 75456.

It was announced yesterday on Facebook that multi-genre Shooter Jennings
son of Waylon Jennings will be teaming up with his father’s band
Waymore’s Outlaws, who still perform quite often today.

The band consists of four previous surviving members of
Waylon’s band and they perform covers and their own music as well.

Before I give you the dates I’ll tell you a little about the band.
If you have the chance to go check them out you need to do so
they are still just as good as they were back in the day.

Richie Albright:
If you don’t recognize his name…you aren’t a Waylon fan.
Not only was he the drummer since 1964 but he produced many
of Waylon’s albums along the way.
And his contributions to Country Music span almost 60 years.

Fred Newell:
Mr. Fred is the second newest one of the bunch having joined Waylon
in the 90’s after steel guitar legend Ralph Mooney decided
to retire from road work.
He was the FIRST country music guitarist to get an endorsement
from Marshall Amplifiers and was the staff guitarist on many
TV shows.

Jerry Bridges:
Another name ANY Waylon fan would not admit not knowing.
THE JIGGER is most famous for the bass thump on the soundtrack
for the ‘Dukes of Hazzard’. Which Waylon was a narrator for.
He spent over 20 years playing for Waylon.

Tommy Townsend:
He is the newest one of the bunch according to my
personal studies, and was mentored by Waylon and his band
as a youth. He sings for the band currently.
Upon occasion they took Mr. Tommy out on the road.

So with that in mind here are the dates I was
given to announce for this article.
