It’s HOT down here in Kentucky already this year and I have covered some TERRIFIC Festivals in the first half of 2019. Now, as I prepare for the second half of the year, I am on my annual July 4rth vacation, holed up in my COOL house and catching up on some music website work for the year.

I am catching up on my festivals for the rest of the year, and I wanted to touch on some friends in the northeast up in New York State that bring some GREAT String Bands and Bluegrass and also Americana to their area here..folks this is the Great Blue Heron Music Festival in New York. This is the 28th year of the annual evnet, here is a brief history of it all:

A summer tradition since 1992, the Great Blue Heron Music Festival is an annual celebration that brings thousands of music lovers to the rolling hills of Western New York each July. With a wide variety of live original music on three stages – including the Main Stage, the intimate Tiger Maple Stage and a big-top Dance Tent that swings through the night – plus instrument workshops, dance lessons, and activities for both children and teens, the festival provides many ways to enjoy the Independence Day weekend. And that is why so many music fans come back year after year, sharing the event with family and friends while camping out among the breezy fields and shady woods that grace the property
