Well my readers I was doing a series of articles for the different venues
for the Last Honky Tonk Music Series. And just recently the series got
A small makeover and they have added more venues to the plans.
Some states have more than one venue and I’m currently researching
the artist roster and venue lists and I’ll have MORE info for
you SOON. I AM still a PROUD sponsor of these events and they ARE
active ALL OVER the U.S. as we speak.
This from their website:
We are pleased to announce The Outpost in Armington, IL as an Official Venue
for LHTMS. Over a week ago, two LHTMS artists were on the road looking for a
pickup gig between LHTMS shows in MO and OH. LHT artist Chris Corkery Music
called up Rick Tackett at The Outpost in Armington (a place he’s played regularly
and loves) and Rick offered Chris Moondawg Hall & Cley Reynolds a last minute
Monday Night gig. When they arrived, The Outpost had Wayne Mills playing on the
Juke Box…. (That brings a happy tear to our eye)…
Chris and Cley were welcomed to the establishment wholeheartedly. With a stellar
sound system and patrons that enthusiastically received the show, it was obvious
it was meant to be that they join the Series. Chris Moondawg Hall says, ” This feels
exactly like the kind of place Hank Williams would have played. I can’t say enough
about how great we were treated. They loved the music and they showed it. They really,
really care about music. The place is just outright COOL.” Welcome, Armington IL and The Outpost!!!
Also last night 2Country4Nashville stopped in Armington and reported back
they had a WONDERFUL time up there and were treated VERY nicely.
They are an awesome duo and I enjoy their set very much. I recently saw
them at R.O.P.E. we had a GREAT time loving on Country Music!
Also Chris Corkery and PeeWee Moore will be there this Saturday night
So this venue is REALLY welcoming the series!
I’m also researching their announcement of involving a new venue A
Honky Tonk in Texas Luckenbach.
Country Artist Dale Watson has recently purchased two old Honky Tonks
in town and is currently reviving them one show at a time.
The Big T Roadhouse and Ginny’s little Longhorn Saloon are both
slowly becoming more active.
One piece I really liked from this particular post about it was this:
Everybody has to do their part, however. The Artists have to promote, show up,
put on a great show. The Venue has to promote, provide the bands with good playing
conditions and reasonable pay and the fans have to support the Artists/Venues by
purchasing tickets or tipping the bands. Spreading the word. It’s a big engine that
must fire on all cylinders to work.
The new venue Big T Roadhouse will feature Brigitte London and Chris MoonDawg Hall
June 12th and will feature the series on the 19th and the 22nd as well.
And Texas also still has the Blue Max featuring the series too.
June 3oth in Salt Lake City Utah at Garage On Beck there is a show listed as well
That show includes Chris MoonDawg Hall and Brigitte London.
So the series is STILL GOING STRONG!
