It’s time once again to feature one of the BEST FESTIVALS in Wisconsin The Blue Ox Festival which is also one that I have on my radar to attend soon.  You know that I take great pride in my festival articles, and I enjoy finding new bands within these lineups. Festivals are a great way to have many bands in the same vicinity, where a guy like me can find of so much information about an abundance of bands all at once.

I can start my steel guitarist series live editions again next year, which I plan to pick back up soon. Many of these artists have albums on my TOP 50 of 2017 like Mr. Tyler Childers, and if you are a regular reader of what I DO you already know 16 of my TOP choices now!

EAU CLAIRE, WI (December 6, 2017) – Located in the pine and hardwood forests of Northwestern Wisconsin, the Blue Ox Music Festival welcomes thousands of roots music fans and musicians each June to the heart of Paul Bunyan country. Hosted by Pert Near Sandstone, Blue Ox showcases some of the best talent American roots music has to offer. Bringing the genre’s brightest artists to a beautiful and intimate setting.

Blue Ox Music Festival takes place June 14-16, 2018 in Eau Claire’s Whispering Pines Campground. Greensky Bluegrass, The Devil Makes Three, Sam Bush, Del McCoury Band, Margo Price, The Infamous Stringdusters, The SteelDrivers, Horseshoes & Hand Grenades, Mandolin Orange, Billy Strings, and Tyler Childers are just a few of the acts that will be performing at the 4th annual event. A full lineup is available below, additional artists and collaborations will be announced for the late-night stage in the future.

Blue Ox was founded in 2015 with the vision of an intimate music and camping experience focused on roots, Americana and bluegrass music. Set in the woodlands and fields that make up the Whispering Pines Campground, it is a perfect place to enjoy today’s best bluegrass and roots music. The line-up is as committed to honoring tradition with artists like the Del McCoury Band and Sam Bush, as artists like The Devil Makes Three and Greensky Bluegrass are committed towards building upon it.

This environment fosters a wonderful sense of community. Festival-goers jam into the night with friends old and new, some of whom are festival performers mingling around the campgrounds. Blue Ox Music Festival is kid-friendly with the option of camping in the quiet family camping section. Better yet, there is entertainment and activities geared towards children. Attendees aged 13 and under get into Blue Ox for free with a paid adult. Food and drink vendors are available onsite and tent camping is included with all general admission tickets.

Blue Ox strives to provide the quality and amenities of a large music festival on a smaller, more comfortable scale. Get in touch with us if you would like to learn more about this great music festival!
