I have SO MUCH upcoming on my ROMP article everyone, it always offers SO MUCH to the patrons of this event, and always has such a great lineup. ROMP does a LOT for the Owensboro and Kentucky local community that I MUST support it!

Along with 199 other fine festivals nationwide my website is proud to endorse this community staple so close to my home here in West Kentucky. I’ll have MUCH MORE about the crafts and special programs deals going on here, so y’all just sit tight and wait for me to update this one!

On June 26-29th, 2019, ROMP Festival takes place at Yellow Creek Park, located in Owensboro, Kentucky.  Produced by the Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame & Museum, the four-day music festival celebrates bluegrass and roots music, local artists, and healthy, farm to table food vendors.

Headlining the initial lineup release are Hall of Fame members Ricky Skaggs and Del McCoury.  Ricky Skaggs and Kentucky Thunder will feature special guest Patty Loveless.  Also appearing are bluegrass/folk-rock favorites Trampled by Turtles and Americana music icon, Steve Earle.  Rounding out the initial release are Rhonda Vincent and The Rage, The Wood Brothers, Billy Strings, the Jeff Austin Band along with The Travelin’ McCourys performing The Grateful Ball, and Joe Mullins & The Radio Ramblers.  More artists to be announced soon.

Explore Yellow Creek Park

Beyond the music: Yellow Creek Park offers many activities for all age groups. Located in the park is a softball field, disc-golf course, tennis courts, and basketball courts. Along with these, there are spots for fishing as well as picnic shelters to cool off during the heat. The park also provides an idyllic nature trail stretching farther than two miles appealing to those who enjoy peaceful hikes and great scenery. Yellow Creek is very kid-friendly and includes a spray park and play ground for children, as well as playing home to the Western Kentucky Raptor Rescue Center and the ROMP mascot, Hootie.

ROMP Festival: Celebrating the Roots & Branches of Bluegrass

Hosted by the Bluegrass Music Museum & Hall of Fame

Celebrating its 16th year, ROMP Festival will return to Owensboro’s Yellow Creek Park. Headlining the initial lineup release are Hall of Fame members Ricky Skaggs and Del McCoury.  Ricky Skaggs and Kentucky Thunder will feature special guest Patty Loveless.  Also appearing are bluegrass/folk-rock favorites Trampled by Turtles and Americana music icon, Steve Earle & The Dukes.

Daviess County’s Yellow Creek Park, a 150-acre facility famous for its nature trails, winding creek and fishing lake, and sweeping tree-lines, plays host to ROMP each year.

A full line-up of artist-led instrument workshops takes place throughout the day, as ROMP artists interact with fans and players of all ages and skill levels. Other workshops and forums include songwriting, clogging and flat-foot dancing, yoga (all levels), and bluegrass jamming 101.

Additional offerings at ROMP Festival include organic and farm-to-table food vendors, craft vendors featuring Kentucky Proud products, art installations and professionally-led children’s activities.

Attendees are encouraged to bring their instruments and jam throughout the weekend, as well as dance the night away at the late night stage, featuring nationally acclaimed acts in the park’s rustic Pioneer Village.

Artist additions, single day tickets, vendor applications and daily schedules will be available in 2018. To stay up-to-date with the latest news from ROMP fest, visit rompfest.com, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and sign-up to become a ROMP insider.
