One of the many wonderful events that happen in Nashville that occur when I am working are the Honky Tonk Tuesdays over at the American Legion Post 82 which is rapidly becoming a local icon here in my neck of the woods. It is a weekly event with weekend shows at The Basement East now, that features many of the great Country acts of my local scene here the likes of Mr. Greg Garing and Chris Scruggs, and more.

This young man hosts this truly wonderful event however he has indeed had a rough year, and after I explain to you how you’ll soon concur that this article and this Go fund me was essentially started. I’m not totally content with online funding of anything other than extremely horrible acts of nature and bad accidents, and this is certainly warranting asking you for help.

Just recently he traveled to Austin Texas to represent the Nashville Boogie festival as they were nominated for Best Festival of 2016, and it took home the award. Well, Mr. Jason couldn’t make it and Mr. Brendan volunteered to be present and accept the award. Folks let me tell you how refined and stalwart this man is, he wore Ernest Tubbs pants onstage to accept the award!

As he was accepting the award someone yelled out “Fuck Nashville” to his reply “Hey watch your language, I’m wearing Ernest Tubb’s pants and I don’t think he would appreciate that”. Well like Mr. Jason said little did they know that just a few days prior his house burned down and he lost ALL of his possessions, but not his spirit or his love for us. Every time I have been around him he is always smiling and enjoying life, and he emanates a true ambiance for REAL Country Music.

Just a few months prior to that his jacket was stolen form the Legion and I don’t believe it was ever found or recovered. This man who works at Robert’s and gives SO MUCH to Country Music AND to my local scene has pretty much had everything taken form him, and still smiles. Honestly he makes me ashamed of even myself as I often take for granted how blessed I truly am in life. We ALL NEED to stop and be thankful of what we have, because in the flash of an eye it can ALL be taken.

Mr Jason Galaz from Muddy Roots has opened a Gofundme for him and honestly in this extreme instance I felt it necessary to write an article and include the link to donate, PLEASE DONATE to help him. You can click HERE to help him out.
