DALLAS, Texas \u2013 GRAMMY, CMA, and Dove award-winning pop, country, and gospel singer B.J. Thomas revealed today that his doctors have diagnosed him as having stage four lung cancer. Thomas is receiving treatment in a local health care facility in Texas, and is hopeful for a complete recovery.<\/p>\n

\u201cI just wanted to take this unique opportunity to share my gratitude to Gloria, my wonderful wife and my rock for over 53 years, my family, friends, and fans. I\u2019m so blessed to have had the opportunity to record and perform beautiful songs in pop, country, and gospel music, and to share those wonderful songs and memories around the world with millions of you. Thomas plans to continue to interact with industry colleagues and fans and remains optimistic about his availability to make public appearances.<\/p>\n

There are many Country Music legends out there that I still study and enjoy, that are very much alive and active. Some of them are not healthy, but they are still out there keeping the roads HOT.<\/p>\n

I absolutely love the 90s and late 80s Pop type Country Music, like his 1992 album called “Back Against The Wall”. It’s one of the most overlooked ( and often snubbed) albums from that era of my youth.<\/p>\n

These album relied solely on sweet and easy vocals, and easy to understand songs of love and love lost.
