One of the festivals we watch on the ongoing list is our friends over at Western Swing Out over in California. This year will be the fourth annual festival, with some mighty fine acts on the bill.

Their website contains a brief description of what this festival is all about, as it has a special ambiance about it that differentiates it from everyone else….It’s all set in the 1950’s.

This from the website:

Join us Memorial Day weekend 2020 for the 4th Annual Western Swing Out Weekender in scenic Tehachapi, California.

This rustic desert gem of a small town is a hidden treasure and a perfect 1950’s time capsule of antique shops, roadhouse motels, charming outdoor spaces, 50’s diners, and museums. There’s even a train! Only one and a half hours outside of Los Angeles, and one hour outside of Bakersfield.

Enjoy your favorite Western Swing Bands in a picturesque small town environment. A perfect holiday weekend getaway for Western Swing, Hillbilly, Rockabilly, & Country Music fans alike!

Four days and three nights of live music, swing dancing, vintage vendors, and all the classic appeal of the vintage 1930s-1950s era.

The Western Swing Out Weekender 2020 returns with many event favorites including moonshine and whiskey tasting, best boots contest, vintage western fashion show, memorial day parade and picnic, and much more. Newly added: classic car show on Sunday!

All Concert Venues are in walking distance. We plan to invade the town with a foot stompin’ and rebel rollickin’ weekend of Western shirts, cowboy hats, and Patio dresses as far as the eye can see, all while enjoying an amazing line up of your favorite bands!
