When I run across some of these media releases, and I choose to feature them, I include the actual press
release and additionally I like to write my own thoughts on the subject at hand. Country Rewind Records have released some extraordinary albums in the past on many Country Legends, and Mr. leroy Van Dyke is certainly one of them. This album is equally integral because at 93 years old, he is one of the Legends we still have with us.

The song “Oklahoma Hills” was written by Mr. Woody Guthrie, and originally recorded by Mr. Jack Guthrie. However, due to the fact that Jack Guthrie lived such a short life of 33 years, it didn’t have a chance to gain so much commercial popularity until 1962 when Mr. Hank Thompson recorded the song on his album “Cheyenne Frontier Days”. However, in the 1990’s he released that song on an album called ‘Walk On By”. “If A Woman Answers (Hang Up The Phone) was one of his originally released songs in 1962, and this album also includes many old songs by people like Hank Williams (Jambalaya) and Bob Wills (San Antonio Rose).

A lot of people believe the some “Old Man Mose” was the very first song to implement the word “fuck” in it. It was originally done by Betty Hutton in 1940, and this version here, of course, does not have the cussing in it.
