Every genre of music has one or more bands that have survived through ages of change and evolution, deaths of band members, and ever constant lineup changes. I mean, no matter what you like there exists some fine examples of that statement. For me, in my own musical loves, I could include Guns N Roses, Asleep At The Wheel, The Old Crow Medicine Show, The Drive By Truckers, The Wu Tang Clan, and even KISS!

Many of these bands had their own “eras” or “periods” of a certain lineup that were more popular than others and many of them gathered more hits during an era, and continued to play them in other eras. New singers can always be a nasty rift in your career or a saving grace, as was with AC/DC and others.

So many of these bands shaped me into who I am as a young adult, as I discovered them at young age and enjoyed the different changes in both lineup and direction. One of them was most defiantly The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, who just recently announced this tour will be their last, and they are retiring….and MAN OH MAN are they bringing out the big gun opening acts! Jamie Lin Wilson, Sunny Sweeney, Jason Isbell and more adorn the roster for the opening acts of some of the tour dates on this upcoming list of dates and venues.

Currently, their lineup consists of Jeff Hanna on vocals, harmonica, and guitar, Jimmie Fadden on drums, Bobby Carpenter on keyboards and vocals, Jim Photoglio on bass and guitar and Ross Holmes on fiddle and mandolin.

At some of the shows they will be playing the album “Uncle Charlie And His Dog Teddy” in it’s entirety, and some of the other shows will include portions of “Will The Circle Be Unbroken” in it’s entirety. Under any of those circumstances, you will be in for a real treat! And you know beyond any doubt you will get to hear songs like “Fishin’ In The Dark”, “Tulsa Sounds Like Trouble To Me’, and more.
