Hi everyone, my name is Gary, and I am an addict and an alcoholic that has been in recovery for 6 years now. One day at time folks. Now here lately I have been enjoying the women artists over the men and it is not a physical reason, it is just my taste. They sing more relatable songs to my liking I would answer. I really could go on and on with all of the new albums that I have enjoyed the songwriting overall is craftier and the stories are there.

But honestly now both male and female artists are doing the sober thing and I do not have one thing against that at all in fact it makes for one hell of an Outlaw song of deep sorrow and regret from a life of partying hard. The lines of the song stand out vibrantly in my face as I deal with my own regrets and triggers daily.

From Her:

I’m glad I went with my gut. This record felt like building a tree fort with your coolest friends and everybody brings building materials. I’m so excited for this to finally be coming out. I’m so excited to finally have the word announce in my calendar…
Wild is the name, and it describes the spirit of the first half of the record. It describes the kind of fear that comes along with recognizing that I’m about to start talking about my alcoholism. It represents the chaos of recognizing relationship problems and where they came from, what was modeled for me, how I let it shape me… and most importantly, little me, sitting on the floor dreaming up what I would be like when I got older. She was wild in all the good ways.

This album is a journey through her intense issues with her own addictions all the way up until the moment she realized she needed to stop drinking, we all have that moment, and we all remember that quite well. It’s a long story made into a small space of 11 songs, and the album boasts some mighty fine co writers like Jon Randall.

The first song on the album is “Rattlesnake Preacher” which she has been playing in her sets live for many years and I am glad she finally put it on one of her albums, and to be honest this is probably my favorite album of hers to date. It speaks to me on every level. and a few levels I didn’t exactly know I had.

1. “Rattlesnake Preacher”
2. “Arkansas Mud”
3. “Water in the River”
4. “Creosote”
5. “Bottle Told Me So”
6. “What If We Don’t”
7. “Lines in the Carpet”
8. “Behind Bars”
9. “Hand Me Downs”
10. “Wild”
11. “Ten to Midnight”
