Billie Jo Jones 'Turquoise & Silver' album cover art

Country music singer-songwriter Billie Jo Jones, is turning heads with her highly anticipated second album, Turquoise & Silver.’ Available last year on all major streaming platforms, the album is a fiery, unapologetic collection that celebrates individuality, authenticity, and artistic growth. This one was not on my radar at first because it looked a bit too mainstream for me but then I thought wait there are many others with the same look lets spin it!

This album was produced by Kent Wells and she co wrote all of the songs on the album I see, right off the bat the song called Flame is an absolute BANGER! The fiddle is slow rolling with a trille in it and vocal ones too, she had me sold there. YES it is more radio friendly than what I usually like, but holy crap her vocals are amazing. The song itself written wise was another good Honky Tonk thumper but not as well written as some of the others.

Playin’ Pretend was an absolutely amazingly well written song in every way, yeah she has the whole deal going on here with stuff like this. I mean who the hell HASN’T felt like this before? This was co written by Leonard sniegowski and Bobby E. Boyd. I really enjoyed this album guys.

You can easily ascertain the influence of Miranda Lambert in her as well as Legends like Loretta and countless more. And if that means I like a mainstream album than so be it! There were many points on the album where she hit some high notes that made me park my forklift and listen again! Because the title song on this album was like a ying yang type of power in those two objects. Like right fist and left fist power.

See, artists with a sordid history of addiction of themselves or their loved ones often release music like this that speaks to me on a personal echelon. As a recovered addict and alcoholic of 6 YEARS in February the songs on this album were a relatable turbulence. She is a real deal and I do not care who gives me shit on it.
