February 9, 2026-On Friday, July 24th, alt-country magnates, Cross Canadian Ragweed, will have the great honor of making their headline debut at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, CO along with special guests Waves in April and the Smokin’ Oaks. The Red Rock Amphitheatre is a geological phenomenon – the only naturally-occurring, acoustically perfect music venue in the world. From Sting and The Beatles, to opera stars and U2, every artist aspires to play on this magical, spiritual, and emotional stage. At Red Rocks, “there’s no better place to see the stars.” Pre-sale tickets will be available on Thursday, February 12th from 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM CST. General admission tickets will go on sale Friday, February 13th at 11:00 AM CST. That statement there is from a press release I had and the about piece below is from their own company, however I wanted to share some history about this one on me, because no other band that we are currently doting on right now plays a larger role in my own musical life. They did a lot for me and they helped usher in an entirely different style attitude of music. I had loved what they were calling “alt country” back in the late 90s and in 2002 Cross Canadian Ragweed released the self titled “Purple Album” right as MySpace was culminating into the birth of social media for us. Now THAT RIGHT THERE birthed my website here. That triggered me to find other bands like Bob Wayne and Outlaw Carnies, Whitey Morgan and the 78s, Honky Tonk Hustlas, and my list goes on and on for a lengthy amount of time for sure with me. But on the other hand, this band ushered in another type of underground music…Red Dirt. Unlike Nashville in the 2000’s, I actually liked what Texas mainstream radio was putting out back then however I also loved this Red Dirt sound, and how it differed from Texas and Oklahoma. This band was one of those that brought about that definition to me as a fan. Also when I was researching the different bands and sounds I found hundreds of bands that I still support now. I am not one of those people that feel that they have a dog in this race of the politics of why the band had all their past turmoil but now the band is back and stronger than ever. They are currently ramping up their itinerary for this year, while at the same time they are laying the foundation for future shows all over the United States.

| “It’s a family bucket list item to play Red Rocks together. I feel like we won an award.” -Cody CanadaAbout Cross Canadian Ragweed: After a whirlwind year of sold-out stadium shows in Stillwater, Oklahoma and Waco, Texas, a few select special appearances, and stepping in for Tim McGraw to headline opening night at the PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Last Cowboy Standing event in Colorado, the powerful clamor from fans to see Cross Canadian Ragweed back on stage after 15 years remains undiminished. From Dierks Bentley’s song “Free And Easy” in 2006 where he sings “Ragweed’s rockin’ on the radio” to Koe Wetzel’s 2019 song “Ragweed” where he sings about missing the band to the 2021 album The Years: A MusicFest Tribute to Cody Canada and the music of Cross Canadian Ragweed to references to the band’s music in two different Stephen King novels, the deep impact of the band’s music and influence has never been allowed to fade, rather it has been memorialized and preserved for the existing populous of fans and the coming generations who will no doubt one day discover the band that “smells like country, tastes like rock n’ roll.” |
