I keep up with a long list of music festivals in the United States each year on a reginal scale overall, I am admittedly partial to Kentucky and Tennessee area. But out west there is a huge list of different music festivals that I support that are Rockabilly like the legend himself Tom Ingram, and I am talking about Viva Las Vegas Rockabilly Weekend.
I will do my best to get as much info as I can about the event because I have not been able to get back out there for another trip, but the year I did go I had a wonderful time with some badass bands! However the main reason I wanted to keep close tabs on this event was the fact that Mr. Tom has decided to turn over the event in the 30th year and will be retiring and scaling back his work…and rightfully so. I say he has earned it.
I am sure that you have all seen my statement shown here on the right. I want to make sure that you know VLV IS NOT STOPPING. VLV29 will be the last one I am organizing. Then it will be taken over by ROBBYN KRAFT who has worked full time on Viva for over 15 years. I already know some of the acts she wants to book and know that Viva will continue to do well.
I will still come to Viva and I am looking forward to enjoying it as an attendee. In the meantime I will see you at VLV29.
Now it is only 4 Weeks away. Viva Las Vegas Rockabilly Weekend #29 is just around the corner. It is shaping up to be a ‘Not To Miss’ Viva with a ton going on. In todays newsletter we have some more information for you with some links and images. Plus some food and drink prices that you will appreciate.
I truthfully hope this article helps you enjoy what to expect that weekend and maybe you will find some new bands this year, there are so many different Spotify playlists to check up on some of the bands there you may not know about yet. So in the next few weeks, I shall share some media from some of my contacts that are going.
