These last few years I have witnessed myself writing about the 80’s and 90’s stars that I grew up with more often now than anything. Hell, John Anderson and Aaron Tippin are more active now than they were even 10 years ago. Last year we had many stars from that era release some of the finest albums of their career like Trisha Year wood and Lorrie Morgan, two damn fine albums.
I have a nice big 90’s Country package show to cover this spring in Alabama and it is choked full of stars that were young when I was still into Heavy Metal and other kinds of music as well. And I also have a couple festivals with acts like Wynonna and Tanya Tucker, whom thankfully was talked into making records again partly by Shooter Jennings.
And hey, books are cool too. Right now I am reading the story of Rob Miller who began Bloodshot Records in Chicago called “The Hours Are Long But The Pay Is Low’. But this spring Clint Black will release a nice book about his life in the road at a much younger age, and in an entirely different world. It is quite interesting to read about the many parties and situations that these road dogs got into during their own prime of their career, but I’ll be honest…some of them are still in their prime.
I will be reaching out to them for more information on this book plus I will also be buying this book just like hopefully everyone else will also buy a copy for themselves. He played two nights at the Ryman last week and played a long list of road dates including some with Cody Jinks and others .
He just finished two nights at the Ryman here in Nashville Tennessee and from other articles that I have previously read, he is indeed still performing many shows and is quite active, and he is playing the Opry in March.

The worst part about being such a vinyl junkie like I am and such a big fan of 90’s Country is that hardly any of these albums were originally released on vinyl, it was CD only. And that sucks because right now demand is so high for vinyl that pressing centers are so busy that they will not get to print vinyl releases of these albums.
While the fact remains that there is some terrific footage from that era on YouTube and other channels and it is easy to fall into a rabbit hole there. Why? Because this music defined me as a young adult, much like other genres. These songs speak to my soul and It takes me back to when I was young man, creative in my own way.
