I am hard at work here at home keeping track of some of the Americanafest showcases that are endorsed by the festival but they are not “THE MAIN” roster. However. That does NOT MEAN they are nothing to pay attention to, and many of the times I have gone, some of the showcases were better. The biggest issue is time and location of all of these things going on all over the city at once. IT LOOKS APPETIZING but let me tell you this: every year I went I ran myself sick the next week. I got SICK one year I ran so hard all week in the heat.
The showcases are all spaced out all over the city and it is hard to navigate UNLESS you sit and plot and plan ahead like I did. If you play it all out right YOU CAN INDEED have fun there and “do it all”. From almost day one Bloodshot Records and Yep Rock Records have been doing it right and having some top notch shows through the years. I might include some of the photos I have from previous years of attending this festival at the Bloodshot event. I am going to write paragraphs all over this article and embed as much information as I can.
About ten years ago I met a long laundry list of people in East Tennessee that turned out to be some of my best friends like Dallas Moore and the man that runs Sol Records, Brain DeBruler. From all of those people, I met so many great bands that are on this festival poster.
Ward Davis, man what an awesome songwriter he is and if you are reading this article then chances are you already know who his work as well as I do. It would not be a proper Americanafest if these names were not included as well,this festival brings many of the writers like Ward and Erin Viancourt, Ashley Monroe and they add in Red Dirt and others like Bluegrass

| Each year, the Americana Music Association highlights a region where our music originated and remains vibrant today. In partnership with the Tulsa Office of Film, Music, Arts, and Culture and the Music Roadtrip App, we are proud to announce that our focus will be Tulsa, Oklahoma at this year’s AMERICANAFEST, September 15-19, in Nashville, Tennessee.
Tulsa’s rich musical history features legendary artists, venues, and signature sounds throughout decades of tradition. The famed Cain’s Ballroom was host to Bob Wills and his Texas Playboys daily radio show in the 1930s. During the 1950s and 1960s, the eponymous “Tulsa Sound” was born with artists such as JJ Cale, Wanda Jackson, and Leon Russell, who also founded the iconic The Church Studio. Tulsa continues to be a stronghold in Americana with many contemporary artists, including Stay tuned for upcoming announcements regarding programming and scheduling for our Tulsa Spotlight! Our music spotlight is back as we celebrate Tulsa at the 26th annual AMERICANAFEST, September 15-19 in Nashville. This year, we’re proud to highlight Tulsa, Oklahoma, with a series of panels, special events, and a musical showcase that celebrates the city’s rich legacy—from historic venues and the birth of the Tulsa Sound to today’s new generation of Americana artists.
