Every year my heroes from the Texas Music Industry host some of the best annual music shows at some of the most iconic Texas music venues in history. See, I truly think that Texas has perhaps a even more relevance to Country Music than Nashville at times. True? I equally feel the same about Chicago. Yep Chicago, hit me up sometime about that one.

This is truly a terrific lineup because I love the 80s and 90s Country, so to see Suzy Bogguss on a poster is something that makes an old fan like me very happy. I need to expand more upon my articles on 90s Country on this website for sure.

Steve Poltz is one hell of a songwriter and a fantastic storyteller. I last saw him at Suwannee Music Festival last year, and I wrote a really fine article about his stories and his songs. He also released a new album last year.

Here is the official press release:

Robert Earl Keen has announced the lineup for the 5th Annual Homecoming Weekend. The event includes Fan Appreciation Day at Floore’s Country Store in Helotes, Texas, from September 5 to September 7.

Free Labor Day show for lucky ticket lottery winners; Two intimate evenings on Sept. 5th and 6th; Lottery open now; Tickets for Saturday and Sunday are on sale now

Robert Earl Keen is pleased to announce the return of his annual Homecoming Weekend in Kerrville, TX. Fan Appreciation Day will occur at Floore’s Country Store in Helotes, Texas. Tie a bow on the summer. Join Keen and friends for 3 nights of non-stop music during Labor Day Weekend, September 5-7.

This year’s lineup features, on Saturday, Sept. 5, a 30th anniversary full-band celebration set of Keen’s seminal recorded-at-Floore’s, #2 Live Dinner album. On Sunday, Sept. Keen gathers some of his favorite songwriters for a Songs & Stories guitar pull indoors at Floore’s. It features legendary Ray Wylie Hubbard, the wild and wonderful Steve Poltz, country music royalty Suzy Bogguss, and Keen. Keen swaps songs and tells stories. And on Monday, Sept. 7, Labor Day proper, Fan Appreciation Day’s doors will open at 2 PM, and music will go until the good folks at Floore’s kick everybody out after Keen and the band’s headline set.

As it has been for the past five years, the all-day Labor Day fiesta will be a free event, featuring yet-to-be-announced guests and a Robert Earl Keen Band performance for those lucky enough to win the ticket lottery. More on that below.
