I just needed a day or two to process this for one reason. I wanted to write this after the sun rose, which I knew was going to be a very somber time for me as a savant of Country Music and one of the Millions all around the world that are mourning her passing. Right now as it stands, every other website has released their own info article with research on her accolades. I release my own thing, and I do my own thing, I am just a guy with a website.

I never met her in person and I do not have a plethora of stories to spin on here about her, but I can indeed elaborate about the profound impact she has had upon my life and others as well. I mean, come on, even Snoop Dog was crying. Her spirit and her demeanor were so loving and so comforting and she embellished not only Country but every other genre of music as well.

Dolly did it all, played all of the venues and shows, graced the Opry often, read books to children, donated millions to strangers in need, employed many college and high school kids at Dollywood and much much more. From day 1 of my life Dolly has always been that beautiful woman on the Muppet Show and Sesame Street.

She was part of so many movies in my youth and brought so much laughter to generations of people in movies like “9 to 5”, and her presence on screen was always iconic as the people she acted with like Dabney Coleman. Very Very funny politically incorrect times.

Dolly Parton came from complete poverty and overcame great odds to prove that environment and poverty do not cause crime, choices do. She deserved every accolade and award. But more importantly she groomed and enabled others younger than her to believe in themselves and become bigger in music business. Another of the reasons I loved her so much was how she revolutionized songwriting for her time with her approach to story songs, by writing “Coat of Many Colors”.Perhaps one of Country Music’s most beloved songs.

The reason I wanted to write this after the sun rose today was because I wanted to write this at a time where I was living in a day without Dolly Parton. Guess what? It sucks.
