I always make huge lists for festivals, and I currently support over 250 of them each year, in many ways. Both financially and physically I endlessly promote these festivals to ensure their proliferation. Back in 2016, Willie Nelson and Family established their traveling festival of ever changing lineups, depending upon which date you buy tickets for. This kicks off June 23rd in my home state of Wisconsin, and this year’s list of guests is overly impressive. I wanted to take some time to talk about it.
I’m going to be talking about Willie Nelson’s 90th birthday celebration and his first ever Bluegrass album in the near future. This upcoming album will be his 99th ( you heard this right…99TH ) studio album. He has recorded many of his past hits in a Bluegrass style, much like Strugill Simpson did in the past.
One of my favorite “sin bands” to enjoy that many people laugh at me for listening to are the Avett Brothers. I have yet to see them live, but I have enjoyed their music for some time now.
Whiskey Myers is always a good go to band if you’re looking for Southern Rock attitude and flare. I got to spend time with them in Glasgow Kentucky at the Plaza Theater, where they tore the place apart.
Their live shows are an absolute hoot, and because of their extensive catalog of past albums, they have enough fuel to burn a long bright path of fire through a dry world of bro Country crap.
Marcus King released a gigantic critically acclaimed album last year called “Young Blood”, and I think he is a valued entry into the mix here. I’m very sure he is going to release more quality music in the future.
This is basically a huge traveling festival that hits local Ampitheaters, and as I previously mentioned the lineup always changes with every couple of shows. Please see the advertisement poster for who is playing on what date, and where.

“Wheatley Vodka is thrilled to be hitting the road with Outlaw Music Festival this year,” said David Binder, Willie and Wheatley fan and brand director at Sazerac. “Our vodka is made in the heartland of the USA in Frankfort, KY and is crafted to be the smoothest, most sippable vodka on the market. It’s the perfect spirit to enjoy when rocking out to music from all the talented artists on tour with Outlaw this summer.”
The inaugural Outlaw Music Festival made its debut in 2016 in Scranton, PA. The sold-out show was so well received that Blackbird and Nelson have developed it into one of North America’s biggest annual touring franchises. Musicians such as Robert Plant, Neil Young, Bob Dylan, Van Morrison, ZZ Top,
Eric Church, Bonnie Raitt, Luke Combs, Chris Stapleton, Sheryl Crow, Sturgill Simpson, The Avett Brothers and many more have been a part of the Outlaw Tour, sharing unforgettable music memories and unique vendor villages with local food, drinks and shopping in Live Nation amphitheaters across the country.
