If you will remember his new album Angels And Alcohol secured my TOP number one spot of 2015 last year, it just couldn’t be whipped song wise or production wise. Pretty much for 25 years Alan Jackson has never changed his style or his signature sound with his band the Strayhorns. He has recorded 16 studio albums and one live album, is an active member of the Opry and has earned 16 CMA awards since his first album in 1990. Of his 50 top ten hits 35 of them were number ones and a lot of people don’t know he wrote many of the songs off Randy Travis album “High Lonesome” in 1992.

In 1999 Alan Jackson promptly stood up and defended George Jones when the CMA requested Jones to trim his hit song “Choices” wrote by Billy Yates to 90 seconds. Jones quickly responded by boycotting the entire event and this prompted Alan Jackson to perform half of his then hit “Pop A Top” which was a Jim Ed Brown cover off his album “Under The Influence”, and followed that with half of Jones song Choices. He then followed by walking off the stage and was almost fired from his label for doing so. In 2000 a Bluegrass artist named Larry Cordle wrote the truthful duet recorded by Jackson and Strait “Murder On Music Row” which turned the tide on pop country entirely.

In 2015 the Country Music Hall Of Fame opened an exhibit celebrating his 25th anniversary with a complete exhibit showcasing his entire life along with his own personal collection of cars and awards and he opened the exhibit himself at an in store performance at their theater. He has been touring in support of Angels And Alcohol ever since.
