Curtis Grimes Scores Double Win at the  2020 Texas Country Music Awards

Brand New Acoustic EP Drops December 11th

On Sunday, November 15th Texas country music fans gathered at the legendary Billy Bob’s Texas in the historic stockyards in Ft. Worth, Texas for the 2020 Texas Country Music Awards.  The event was a high spirited affair brimming with the who’s who of Texas country music including last year’s “Entertainer of the Year” Curtis Grimes who came away with a double win for “Single of the Year” for “River Road Dream,” and for “Christian Country Artist of the Year,” his second time to win that category.

Grimes delivered a brilliant live performance of the winning single and basked in the golden opportunity to share the company and stage with his most respected peers and industry professionals.  Still, Grimes admits that the biggest highlight of the evening was having his entire family there to share it with him including his wife Brooke, his 1-year-old son Cason, and his 3-year-old daughter Blakely who accompanied Grimes on stage to accept his awards.

It’s always nice to be recognized and appreciated for your work.  I’m thankful for the opportunity to even be in the ring.  For one: just to be nominated.  And two: winning is just the icing on the cake.  None of that is ever guaranteed.  To win an award for the second time this year…I appreciate that very much.  It’s always great to see everyone in the business and catch up with friends, something we all rarely get to do.  Most of us are indie artists, so to have an event like this where we can all dress up and celebrate our music is truly wonderful.”

Another big highlight was the church service concert he performed earlier in the day in the stockyards.  Whether it’s a picnic or a fundraiser or an early morning service, this cowboy church revival is another heartfelt aspect of Grimes’ live performance resume, one that he is proud to deliver in addition to his regular live concerts.  His passion to spread the gospel doesn’t stop with his music, rather his music is often the vehicle.  Grimes has proudly distributed bibles through his Ten Finger Ministry since 2017.

Right on the heels of his success on awards night, Grimes will release his brand new EP “Acoustic Collections” on December 11th.  The 5 song effort features two brand new songs “Cowboy Constitution” and “Ain’t Worth The Heartache,” and acoustic versions of fan favorites “From Where I’m Standing,” “Still A Little Country Left” and “Heaven Sent.”  The project is produced by Curtis Grimes and Bart Busch.  “Acoustic Collections” is like a peaceful Sunday drive in the country, smooth and easy with a heart full of humbled gratitude.  It’s the perfect auditory cruise towards his new full length album release in summer 2021.  Pre-orders can be snagged here. https://ffm.to/curtisgrimesacousticep
