The last few weeks I posted many articles from all over America that dealt with many genres of music from many different regions of the country. We talked over New Year all about Southern Rock and it’s history at Capricorn Studios, spent time with Blackberry Smoke, and I shared some museums with you about the Allman Brothers and the like.
We recently spent some time helping our Rockabilly friends over in California as the Legendary Label and studio of Wild Records was lost in the California fires. And just like Wild Records needs help moving forward, another important and independent label IS moving forward. Even right now as I make this article for Heart Of Texas Records, I am watching the livestream for Byron Roberts in Lexington Ky. The entire local Appalachian Music community is gathered together right now on his behalf.
Out in Central Texas there is a very important man, Tracy Pitcox that is doing some amazing work out there. He works tirelessly day and night to bring his fans live music and recorded music from some of the finest artists and bands of the Texas area. Legendary stars like Tony Booth and Darrell McCall adorn the recordings of this label, like the recent new album from Jody Nix we talked about.

35 years of this wonderful music and this museum! Tracy goes out of his way to promote the proliferate the music and the bands he loves, and it shows vibrantly in his work! I have been a personal fan of everything he does for so many years now, and it’s a pleasure to combine all of this info into one article for you.
I personally haven’t been out to this particular museum for myself, but I soon plan to get down there and see everything, and here is just a little more about the history of the museum itself. Over 100 artists are represented in this museum and label, with stage costumes and memorabilia of all sorts. Instruments, hats, and other collection pieces adorn these halls and 1200 square foot building that opened in 2000.
One of the many reasons that impress me about how Tracy does business is the fact that admission to this museum is always FREE, and this museum is essentially almost debt free with investors only. It’s not really a profit driven existence. Their plethora of endless volunteers that work here for free and donate their time to produce all of the products that they make.

This portion is from their website here, and I will talk more about the current expansion they have going on. Everyone is very excited about all of the goings on that will commence in the spring and will open during the festival, below I will tell you about the festival.
We are so excited about the expansion project at the Heart of Texas Country Music Museum in Brady, Texas!
Construction has begun on what will be a new 6,090 square foot addition to the Heart of Texas Contry Music Museum in Brady, Texas. The new building will face South Bridge Street and be built on the lots that are owned and adjacent to the back of our existing building. The two buildings will be connected by a hallway at the left of the building. This new building will be the main entrance of the Heart of Texas Country Music Museum and will house of welcome center, gift shop, small performance area that will replace our current upstairs room, more bathrooms as well as additional displays.
We have the initial structure up at this time with the foundation, walls and the roof. The contractors just finished with the insulation of the entire building. The electrical, HVAC System, flooring and the interior walls will be the next major phase of the building. We plan on using the white limestone rock on the front of the building to match our current structure. We have already ordered $21,000 worth of new custom built display cases that will house some precious new Country Music Memorabilia that has never been on display before.
Our goal is to have a huge grand opening celebration at our 36th Heart of Texas Country Music Festival during March 13-22, 2025!
We are so thankful for the great Country Music fans who have donated towards this over half a million dollar addition already. Your donations, whether large or small are very important to help us to complete this project. All donors will be recognized in our publications as well as on a donor wall plaque inside the new building. We plan to complete this new addition without borrowing any money allowing the Heart of Texas Country Music Museum to be completely debt free.

All donations towards the project are tax deductible as the Heart of Texas Country Music Museum is a 501c3 non profit organization.

So yeah, most of you know that we cover over 275 do it yourself festivals all over America that embellish the music I love and in turn my readers love! I mean look at these daily lineups and all of the events that will be transpiring that week this spring! Moe Bandy and Tony Booth alone are worth the ticket price, but hey just look at what you get on this deal here!
There isn’t a Country Music fan out there that cannot convince me that Tommy Hooker isn’t an OG or Justin Trevino either. In the past, the label has produced some iconic albums featuring Curtis Potter and Johnny Bush among others.
Of course in the next few weeks most of this festival information will be mass available on my weekly updated festival guide of over 200 and 110 more are being waited on to announce dates or a lineup, and this one is ALWAYS included for sure.
