Just because this is primarily a Country Music website, I still enjoy all forms of music as well and to be honest, I feel that sometimes I just do not get to spend enough time dwelling upon the many bands involved with their respected scene like bluegrass and Rockabilly.

Now I am going to be candidly honest here in saying I am an extreme savant when it comes to soaking up music history of any genre, and I have devoted the last 40 years of my life studying all aspects of the science of the music business. 40 years of learning where all these genres of music came from, like last week when I published the New Years Eve article from Macon Georgia and we learned about Southern Rock.

If you truly break down the mechanics of it all, Death Metal and Thrash Metal came from Classical and Rockabilly. If you listen to the structure of songs like “Let’s Have Fun” by the Desperados you will hear it in bands like Cannibal Corpse. TRY IT I promise you WILL see it…..and you will “get it”. See for over 20 years my heroes over at Wild Records suffered a devastating loss. Death Metal came from Florida….

Rockabilly came from California and the entire West Coast, and we all owe that entire community a lifetime of gratitude for paving the way for the bands we love now like the High Jivers and such. Back in 2006 and 2007 when I was searching for the local independent thing in labels like Bloodshot and Farmageddon….I found Wild Records….and from there I was hooked on this stuff. I just take a few hits off my vape and put on some “Dance In The Rain” by Luis And The Wildfire or like some Paladins.

While half the nation was celebrating a Happy New Year, the other half was ( and still might could be ) burning, and half of the other half is still recovering from the hurricane flood! What a chaotic mess of a year 2024 was? So yeah, obviously in the California fires we lost the entire world of Wild Records. And when I say entire, I mean the ENTIRE world history of it.

Isn’t that sad folks? All of those masters to all of that remarkable music and all of that artwork, posters and all other assorted items that were lost?

So now, it’s time for us as music fans to help out this legendary record label here…and here is how.

That’s right! Many people asked how they could hear the Wild Records Special show, so here is the link on Mixcloud, where you can listen any time.

I made this show because Wild Records Studios and everything else associated with WILD Records USA was burned to the ground over this last week of the horrific Eaton fire in Altadena, Los Angeles.. I want listeners to play this show and consider donating to the GoFundMe established by Marlene Perez of The Rhythm Shakers.

This music is my favorite sub-genre within the “rockabilly kingdom”, when Reb Kennedy gathered together Mexican/Hispanic musicians and began recording their passionate, WILD, original songs in the early 2000’s.

Here is a link to the GoFundMe to rebuild Wild Records USA

Our names are Marlene and Andrew along with everyone from our little family are starting this GoFundMe for the founder of Wild Records Reb Kennedy & Family lost music studio in Eaton Fire Since the year 2000 Reb Kennedy has touched the lives of thousands of people in Southern California and around the world through his record label Wild Records.

He has been directly responsible for the recording and promotion of music that took many young people on travels and adventures around the world. A few days ago Reb and his family lost their home in the Eaton Fire as well as Wild Records headquarters, thousands of pieces of irreplaceable one of a kind items and a recording studio Reb had been working on for over 20 years.

Reb is not someone who has ever shown desperation personally or financially and we know that he would be okay if nobody came to his aid today. There is no price you can put on hundreds of master tapes on ¼ tape recorded live in studio. There is no price you can put on 5000 vinyl records collected over a lifetime many of which are nearly one of a kind at this point in history. There is no price you can accurately put on the instruments, stand-up basses, piano, vintage cars, vintage clothes, art and the several metric tons of beautiful memories that happened at 155 W. Mendocino in Altadena, CA.

We know that money cannot replace all this, but it will help Reb to start again with a new Wild Records studio. Since day 1, Reb has been like a father to me, Jenny and Hayden have been like my family as well as everyone else in the label. If Reb & Family have touched you in any way please consider a small donation. Many people coming together in a time of strife can be a powerful force. Thank you all❤️ Marlene, Andrew and all the Wild Records Family
