Songwriting Legend Mr. John Prine left us so much to enjoy in life, that his soul will never die..especially in Nashville. He left behind so much wonderful music, and his own label Oh Boy Records.

His entire life he spent on stages entertaining millions with his songs full of charm and wit. He ushered in many of the younger artists we have today, and mentored them in the ways of showmanship and business.

I had the amazing opportunity to get to speak with him upon many occasions, he used to freely frequent most show venues that all of us enjoy the same upon. I am not absolutely sure if he knew how important he was to us, but he always made his fans feel how important they were to him.

I wrote a bunch of articles for all of the albums that were being re issued recently to get prepared for this celebration here. This Article here has all of the information on the new releases.

It’s Our 40th Anniversary!

40 years ago, John Prine and his manager Al Bunetta decided to do the unthinkable and start their own record label. We are celebrating this milestone all year long! Look for re-issues, new music from our artists, exclusive 40th-anniversary merchandise, special edition releases, and lots more

Follow Oh Boy Records on social media as we will be celebrating a different album from our catalogue each week.

And a very special thank you to all of you who have been supporting us from the beginning.  Your love and support are what’s kept us going all these years. Here’s to the next 40!

Love, Oh Boy Records

“Every time I’d go to a little concert hall or a club, I was filling it up. So I thought, “Why not make music just for those people.” And that’s when I talked to Al about starting Oh Boy. “I’m really proud of it,” says Prine. “As time’s gone by and people starting independent record companies has kind of become the thing, it’s great that we’ve stayed afloat for this many years.”
