Dear Festivarians,

Remember a while back when we asked you the opposite of the word fallow? Well, let’s kick it off, because we are officially ON for Summer 2021! We are thrilled to announce that we will produce all of our festivals this year. Yes, all of them! Wow, that feels good to say. What a momentous day! This includes Telluride Bluegrass, RockyGrass, Folks Festival, Mabon, as well as Song School and Academy.

We spent last year adjusting to a new normal. In the limited light, we began a slow walk through winter, gaining momentum as the days grew longer. We stoked the embers on the Equinox, and they grew brighter as we flowed into weeks bursting with Spring Grass. And soon, we approach the Solstice.

This year, the Telluride Bluegrass Festival will be split into two separate weekends; the traditional Solstice weekend, and the Friday- Sunday before. We will be operating at a reduced capacity of 2,500 people per day. We are doing this to accommodate for the extensive COVID-19 precautions we will have in place.

All Festivarians will be socially distanced in self selected corrals of 10, and we have coordinated limited camping in town. We will forego our traditional sponsor/vendor areas. We worked tirelessly with the town to coordinate a plan that everyone feels safe with, and we are excited to explore a new frontier of Telluride Bluegrass this year.

The Festivarian almanac guarantees seven days of music under the solstice sun. We will bask in the warmth of familiar singing voices, as we are returning to our roots with some of our oldest friends. We will announce the lineup in the next two weeks!

Existing ticket holders will receive preference to buy tickets to all 2021 festivals. We will reach out to all Telluride rollovers this week to outline the available options. There is the possibility that there will be no leftover corrals to go on sale to the general public, and we want to set this expectation on the front end.

Thank you all for your patience through this process. Our eyes are on the future, and we’re full steam ahead. This year will be different, and we are so grateful for the opportunity to present live music to you once again. You will be hearing more from us soon. It’s Pandemonium on the Planet in the very best way possible.

With love,
The Planet Bluegrass Family
