Here’s a little tidbit of news for you, Country Legend Charlie Daniels birthday is the day before mine November 28th, whereas mine is the 29th. This year Charlie Daniels will celebrate his 80th birthday to coincide with the ever popular yearly event he hosts called Volunteer Jam.
He began the first one a the Nashville was Memorial in 1974 and the vinyl albums that highlight these classic shows are the pride of collectors everywhere. HERE is where you can purchase tickets to this event that has been announced with only one act so far, Kid Rock and it will take place November 30th at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville Tennessee.
This fall he will also be inducted into the Country Music Hall Of Fame and recently during Fan Fair he stopped his set to usher out fellow inductee Randy Travis out on the stage to see the people. Despite all of Randy’s personal demons and damage Country Music still loves and adores Randy Travis for what he has done for it.
Charlie Daniels holds honest and true to his Opry membership performing his required number of appearances and THEN SOME, in fact when he is home and in town he plays EVERY weekend. I mean that’s what the Opry is FOR so we have an institution to come see them when “mainstream” people dub them “no longer relevant”…whatever that means.
