Those wonderful folks over at the Nashville Palace are featuring more truly awesome music this weekend June 25th, as they present the inaugural Keith Whitley Tribute Show featuring some awesome talent for the LOW ticket price of 15 dollars and it will begin at 5:30.
This show will be hosted by his son Jesse Keith Whitley and will many of my friends and some of my heroes as well. You know folks for only being 33 Keith Whitley sure left an impact in my life as an artist..I never knew him in person as I was just graduating high school when he died in 1989, and even though he only left us with a few albums he like others that passed away that young left timeless classic Country songs that I’m sure will be shared this night.
What is well worth the money (to me at least) is the stories and the knowledge of his legacy and life. We all have our darkness and our personal problems and I never look into that side of the Legends, I’m interested in the stories and the things they contributed to Country Music and the studying I’ll get to do this weekend is what I lust for.
Not to mention the food there is great and the walls are adorned with more history than you can soak up in one night I spent a few moments during the Nashville Boogie just wandering the walls there. I love the Music Valley Drive area the most in Nashville, I always have a good time there.
