Friend,
We wanted you to be the first to know: we are overjoyed to announce a stellar 2021 lineup featuring festival fan favorites over the past decade! This year’s lineup features legendary three-time GRAMMY Award winner and the Americana Music Association’s Lifetime Achievement Award winner, Taj Mahal. A 2017 Grammy win for TajMo, his collaboration with Keb’ Mo’, brought his Grammy tally to three wins and 14 nominations.
The lineup also features festival favorites and Grammy award-winning musicians, The Mavericks, who will headline the main stage on Saturday night. This year, The Mavericks the debuted their first-ever, all-Spanish album, released on the band’s own Mono Mundo label.
Friday night’s headliner is Watchhouse, the band formerly known as Mandolin Orange, who topped Billboard’s Heatseeking Album’s Chart in 2019. The 2021 festival lineup also includes Lucero, The Lone Bellow, Hayes Carll, Suzy Bogguss, The Steel Wheels, Jeffrey Foucault, Mipso, Supaman, and more!
In all, the festival includes a free street dance on Thursday July 22nd along with 16 main stage and 14 side stage musical performances. With a reputation for paring Grammy award-winning superstars with festival producer Sarah Calhoun’s hand-picked rising stars, Calhoun has curated a special reunion lineup representing many of our favorite artists to celebrate the past ten years in the cow pasture – the festival has grown from 6,000 attendees in its first year to a record 18,500.
The Red Ants Pants Music Festival is locally-produced and supported by hundreds of volunteers. Thanks to your support, a portion of the proceeds from the four-day event have a lasting impact by supporting the Red Ants Pants Foundation’s mission of increasing women’s leadership, promoting rural communities and bolstering our working family farms and ranches.
Held in a working cow pasture on the Jackson Ranches just outside of White Sulphur Springs, Montana, the Red Ants Pants Music Festival will take place July 22nd – 25th 2021. Each year, we feature this festival information along with 275 others in a yearly fashion.

A word from our festival producer and founder, Sarah Calhoun:
“We know there is a lot of healing needed to move forward from a challenging year and we’re grateful to be a part of that process by bringing good folks together to celebrate rural Montana. We’re thrilled to share the depth, diversity, and incredible star power of our 2021 lineup. The life stories of our musicians include the dreams of immigrant families, the voices of our indigenous community, women leaders, along with rising artists that have earned loyal festival fans over the last decade. I envision moments where we all belt out the words to songs we know by heart, and moments of awe where we embrace something new. We thank the Meagher County community and the Jackson Family Ranch for their partnership over the last decade and can’t wait to welcome everyone back to the cow pasture.”
Thank you and see you this summer!
Love,
Sarah and the Red Ants Pants Music Festival Family
