Come on now folks, you didn’t think for one minute that I wasn’t going to include the Viva Las Vegas Rockabilly Weekend if my website features over 275 of them did you? I mean, I am constantly adding info on them weekly as I get the info to do so! Many of them have not announced lineups yet, but for those of them that have I have added them, and talked about many of them on here.
This wonderful extravaganza is currently underway in Nevada this weekend, and I heavily support this one each year. This article is in my yearly festival series, as I currently cover over 200 independent and ( as less corporate as possible ) music festivals. What Mr. Tom Ingram contributes to many genres of music is criminally overlooked and underappreciated to me.
There are so many powerhouse bands that have played this festival in the past, that I cover on my website in mighty fashion like these guys called the Delta Bombers, and of course up above we have The Killer, Mr. Jerry Lee Lewis from 2018.
This year ( as you can see below ) they have four huge days of activities planned for those that attend this event. The Blasters, The Rhythm Shakers and The Honkabillies are all playing this year’s event, as well as my friends over at the Royal Hounds! Down at the very bottom, you will find a HUGE poster of the actual lineups and times for EVERYTHING!
YES!!! You have read it right. The Governor of Nevada announced yesterday that the mask mandate for indoors is at an end. As we are guided by the state rules it means that masks are not required at Viva Las Vegas #25. We realize that there may be mixed reactions to this but this does not mean you cannot wear one. If you want to still wear a mask at Viva, please go ahead. There is nothing wrong with that. We are all there for the music, dancing, cars, burlesque, and fun with friends. We have all had a tough 2 years. Let’s try and put all of our different opinions behind us and let’s have a great weekend. That is why we go to Vegas.
See further below for big schedule changes as we switch to a 25 hour clock.
VLV25 SWITCHING TO A
25 HOUR CLOCK
As you know, at Viva we cram a lot of stuff into a tight schedule. To relieve some of the pressure we have decided that as from this VLV we are switching to a 25 hour clock. This is a relatively new format that is gaining in popularity as it adds an hour to each day. We will be releasing a whole new schedule using the 25 hour clock within a few days so look out for it. So how do you know the time I hear you asking. There are multiple ways. The easiest is a watch made by Timex that has 25 hours on it. You can see me with mine in the photo. Or you can download apps from your app store that give you a 25 hour option on your phone. They are free. Alternatively you can work it out but that is a bit long winded. For each hour after midnight, you add 2.5 mins per hour to the original time. So 4pm (16:00 hrs) is 16 hours after midnight. 16 x 2.5 = 40 mins. So the new time is 4.40pm (16:40 hrs).
Sometimes used 25 hour watches are available on Ebay as well.
BAND CANCELLATION
We re sorry to say that due to health reasons THE BLASTERS will be unable to perform at Viva Las Vegas #25. We really hope that they will be able to perform at a future Viva but in the meantime, their slot at the car show will now be filled by THE GO-GETTERS, so be ready for a great set.
